Caribbean Beaches - What Draws Us to the Beach?

Photobucket

What is it about the beach that draws us there? Is this an instinctive reaction due to the possible fact that land animals may have started as creatures that crawled out of the sea? Maybe it's because you're never far away from a large lake or an ocean because 71% of the Earth's surface is covered by water. Perhaps it could be the memories of your first time at the beach or family vacations.

What we do know is that the beach is a place to relax and listen to the waves or just simply to have a great time in the sun. When we think beach, we think Caribbean.

Many travelers to the Caribbean go to lay on the beach, get some sun, read a good book and relax. Others take their families there to experience a tropical playground, picking up shells and building sandcastles. Beachcombers wander the sand in hopes of finding hidden treasures, invoking fantasies of sea-faring pirates.

The beach offers countless activities on a Caribbean vacation. Grab your snorkel and fins and head out into the water to see the curious and bright colored wildlife beneath the waves. You can get an eagle's eye view of the beach when you strap into a parasail. Grab a Hobie Cat and push off the beach to sail the open water. Hop on a WaveRunner, a fast and exciting sit-on type jet ski that carries one to three people at a time. And what a time, as you speed along the warm, clear calm waters right off the sandy beach! For those who want to stay green, there are plenty of enviro-tours on inflatable boats and by sea kayak, right from the beach. If you workout, you can try walking or running on the beach as it adds a degree of difficulty to your routine. Many resorts offer beach volleyball, a fun way to burn some calories. After your workout, relax in a hammock and doze off by the water.

As you can see, there are endless activities on the beach. We can't promise that you'll like all these activities. However, anyone who visits a Caribbean beach is treated to the feeling of soft, warm sand beneath their feet and beautiful blue water. Stop dreaming about Caribbean beaches and start going!
